Virtual Piano is a free online keyboard you can play right in your browser. Use your mouse, touchscreen, or computer keyboard to play notes — no software installation or MIDI controller needed.

Choose from multiple sounds including piano, synth lead, pad, and pluck. Navigate octaves and adjust volume to create the perfect practice or creative environment.

Frequently asked questions

Yes! The A-L keys on your keyboard map to one octave (C through B), and K-P keys extend into the next octave. Press Z to go down an octave and X to go up.

No. You can play with your mouse, touchscreen, or computer keyboard. However, if you have a MIDI controller, our MIDI Copilot tool supports MIDI input.

We use the Web Audio API for near-zero latency audio. On most devices, the response is fast enough to feel natural for real-time playing.
